Special Olympics Manitoba Celebrates 30 Years!
In 2010, SOM will celebrate 30 years of sport provision, a remarkable milestone when you think back to the early days. We owe the success of the organization to many people, those that have gone before us, those currently involved and the next generation of leaders to come.

In 2010, our goal is to continue to raise awareness of the abilities of our athletes and to ensure greater provision is made for people with an intellectual disability to take part in sport.

Special Olympics Manitoba athletes are competing in London, Ontario from July 11 - 18th, 2010 for the opportunity to compete as a member of Team Canada in Athens, Greece at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in July 2011.

Your support of the 2010 Dream Campaign allows more then 75 Special Olympics Manitoba athletes the chance to train and prepare for these games in London, the qualifier meet for Athens. They need your support!

Do you know an athlete, team, coach or a member of the community who inspires, you, challenges, or supports you? If you answer yes to any of these, NOMINATE THEM TODAY for one of the Special Olympics Manitoba 'Of the Year Awards.

Coaching Manitoba Awards

Do you know a phenomenal Special Olympics Manitoba coach or community volunteer? There are numerous opportunities to thank and honour these individuals with an award nomination. Here are just a few award applications available:

Coaching Manitoba "Coach of the Month"
Deadline to nominate is 25th of each month.

In addition, many communities have their own volunteer awards. Check your local community website for more details. More award nominations will be available in the upcoming months, including the Special Olympics Manitoba "Of the Year" awards and Sport Manitoba Awards. Applications will be posted in February.

Would your region like to host a course?
All you need is a minimum of 10 people and we will host a course in you community at no cost to you. If you or somebody in your region who would like to host a course please just contact Susan at 925-5626 or by email.
