Family and Friends are an integral part of the success of Special Olympics Manitoba. Without the help and support of family, Special Olympics Manitoba would not be the success that it is today. Family and Friends can become involved in Special Olympics in the following areas: fund raising, administration, and / or coaching.

Coaching
Family and Friends can also assist by becoming a program volunteer or coach. Most parents at some point find themselves coaching at the community club or higher level with their sons'/daughters'/ teams'. Why not with Special Olympics? We offer the training to make you the best coach you can be.

Administration
Family and Friends can take on an administrative role within the club as a Club Manager. Or you can help at the regional level where you can be the regional secretary or treasurer, or coordinate registrations for competitions.

Fundraising
To assist with fund raising, family and friends can help at a club level with organizing fund raising events, social events, or obtaining donations. Volunteers are also required to assist in working Bingos and at major events put on by Special Olympics Manitoba. Assistance is required from club to regional to provincial levels.

Competitions
Special Olympics Manitoba competitions give the opportunity for athletes to challenge themselves and test their athletic skills. It is an integral part of Special Olympics Manitoba and volunteers can be involved in a wide variety of areas. Contact your region or SOM to find out more.

Family and Friends Committee
Become part of this committee to help guide Special Olympics Manitoba and to ensure that the programs and competitions are meeting the needs of all athletes.
