Special Olympics Manitoba track coach on leave, wrote a message to her team!
Since moving to Switzerland from Winnipeg, I had my first big cry! Seeing the Facebook picture of Ben Gunnarsson that was posted recently got me going. In two days it will be my two month anniversary of living in Switzerland. I am proud to say I haven’t had a feeling of homesickness yet. But seeing this photo and remembering this moment and so many other ones like it that I had the privilege to witness last year really makes me sad that I am missing the second season of Titans Performance track! Seeing the improvement every week in the Titans athletes carried me through every week.
I am pretty sure everyone in Stonewall could tell you about each athlete in full detail that is how much I talked about them. That picture brought back memories of some of my most memorable moments and cherished memories I will take with me my whole life. And though I am over the moon happy with being in Europe, I am sincerely going to miss the Titans. I want you to know that even though I am not on the same continent I am rooting and thinking about you guys every day and even though I am not on the field with them (though I wish I was) you can guarantee I will still be the biggest fan!
There is only one thing that I miss from home and that is my team! When Titans start up again please give everyone my best and tell them that I miss them all so much and can’t wait to come back in a year and see how much better they all are! I also want to thank you for letting me be a part of the greatest sports team! You allowing me to coach changed my life forever! I hope that when I come back I will have the chance to be reunited with all of you again, but if not, know that I will always remember the Titans (see what I did there), the mighty, mighty Titans!
Well, I think my eyes are dry now so before the water works start up again I will bring my message to a close! I will be checking SOM website and Facebook page on a weekly basis once the season starts so please don’t be shy about posting pictures and stats and everything Titans! Thank you so much for helping me find my biggest inspiration!
