Papa Says Thank You!

Have you met Papa?

Papa (Tom Creighton) celebrated his 80th birthday by walking across Canada to help raise urgently needed funds for Special Olympics Manitoba. The virtual walk started in Vancouver on January 1st and ended in Halifax, at a distance of 2,761 miles, or 4,434 kilometers.

He had three goals at the beginning of 2022. He reached goal #1 (turn 80) in July and #2 (walk 4,434 km) on December 8th, and with your help, he reached the final goal of raising $100,000 by December 31st!

"As is often said, it sometimes takes a village, and in the case of Papa’s Walk, the village was made up of corporate sponsors, media/service club boosters and a whole lot of individual donors. Without their individual and collective efforts, Papa’s Walk would not have been able to successfully reach its fundraising goal of $100,000. So, on behalf of the Papa’s Walk Team, the management, staff, coaches, volunteers, and most importantly, the athletes of Special Olympics Manitoba, I want to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude, and personally extend a very heartfelt thank you to each and everyone one of you for your generous support.

- Tom Creighton (Papa)"

The Papa’s Walk donation portal will remain open until the end of January. Every little bit helps our athletes achieve their dreams and creates opportunities for their lives to be changed through sport. You can donate until January 31st by following this link.
