Special Olympics Manitoba Swimmers at the Western Canada Summer Games

Coaching my group four Team Manitoba swimmers (Danny Chan, Josh Pereira, Samantha Currie and Quinlan Roberts) has been amazing. They have come so far this year, working hard together as a team in order to pursue and achieve their personal bests!

They are there for each other, keeping each other’s best interests at heart. They train hard, accept critique and criticism, using it to their advantage so that they may thrive as athletes.

Together, they pushed and found new limits, achieved new goals.

We laughed, we cried, we joked, we sang. We also sweated, set goals, and completed a day of training in the lake and hiking in the rain!

These four swimmers have their sights set high and there isn’t anything they won’t achieve as long as they keep their hearts in the pool and their heads in the games!

I expect nothing less than an amazing experience from these swimmers at this year’s Western Canada Summer Games in Wood Buffalo, Alberta. They are a fantastic group who have grown so much in the past year and it has been an honour for me to be able to work with them for the second year in a row and see what they are capable of accomplishing!
