The 3rd Annual Special Olympics Go for the Gold On-line Auction will be held the week of March 1 – 7th, 2010. This year’s on-line auction will again be featured on our website – www.specialolympics.mb.ca and in the Winnipeg Free Press through out the week and will be closed during a very special 3 hour television broadcast to be hosted by Shaw TV – Channel 9 on Sunday March 7th.

Special Olympics Manitoba Celebrates 30 Years!
In 2010, SOM will celebrate 30 years of sport provision, a remarkable milestone when you think back to the early days. We owe the success of the organization to many people, those that have gone before us, those currently involved and the next generation of leaders to come. In 2010, our goal is to continue to raise awareness of the abilities of our athletes and to ensure greater provision is made for people with an intellectual disability to take part in sport.

Do you know an athlete, team or coach who inspires you, challenges you, supports you? If you answer yes to any of those questions, we have a way for you to recognize them…nominate them for one of the Special Olympics Manitoba “of the Year” Awards.
This annual recognition program is a wonderful way for athletes, coaches and volunteers to be acknowledged for all their hard work and commitment to Special Olympics in Manitoba…they just need to be nominated.
